Adam has a background in mechanical engineering with a specialty in refrigeration, humidity, and custom indoor growing environments. Having helped developed a lot of the legal Cannabis facilities in the country, Adam has a unique background in indoor horticulture. He applies his knowledge to the vegetable production on the farm and we have a “uniquely Galiano” indoor growing situation. Sustainable heating and cooling keep the operational costs of the greenhouse down. Adam also runs Stratus Designs from Galiano, which specializes in the design of Cannabis growing and processing buildings. For Adam, this change from Cannabis to food marks the next evolution in his career and is a new push in being able to give back to the community, fulfilling a desire to help build local industry and keep jobs local. Adam’s wife, Dr. Kate Clarke, is currently completing her medical residency in Victoria as a medical GP and enjoys helping on the farm when time permits. Kate holds the title of “ultimate broom picker.”
